The base game is very good and will keep you busy for many hours. I wont go only the base game or the gold edition because eventually u want all the season passes - and then u pay more total in the long run. If you want specific cosmetic you can buy them later. I'd say go with the complete edition year 4 for fullprice 60$, since it contains all the gameplay relevant DLC. Keep in mind the cosmetic pack bundle, the seasonal decoration pack, the industrial zone pack and the old town pack are cosmetic only, so entirely optional. Then you have every single DLC, season passes, all cosmetics and even the deluxe edition stuff unlocked, you now own everything there is to this game.
